Meet Pearlplip

Origin & lore

Pearlplip hatched several bubbles after her brother and has been catching up ever since. Inkwumble insists their purpose is to inspire dread.

Pearlplip thinks they would get more visitors if they offered something to take home. Her first business venture began after his disastrous haunting, the Burp from Below.

She collected pebbles from the scene and offered them as genuine relics. Business was excellent until Inkwumble discovered she was requesting payment in larger pebbles.

She now manages his appearances, introduces him without permission, and ends every presentation with a turn and a wiggle of her extravagantly ruffled rear end. She calls this “the grand fin-ale.”

Inkwumble has explained that terrifying water monsters do not curtsy. Pearlplip has requested that he stop limiting the arts.

She tells everyone he is the most terrifying monster in the caverns. She means it sincerely, which makes it very hard for him to stay annoyed.

Appearance

A creamy, speckled crown flowing into watery blue, pale little horns, dark curled tentacles, and a frilly backside that looks suspiciously overdressed for swamp life. Her wide-open mouth is ideal for announcements nobody asked her to make.

Known quirks

Says “Watch this” with no plan for what happens next.
Renames her brother’s carefully catalogued treasures.
His ancient spoon is now Brenda.
Insists on swimming ahead so everyone can admire her “departure outfit.”
Blows farewell bubbles at creatures attempting to flee in terror.
Leaves her best finds outside Inkwumble’s sleeping nook and blames the current.

Personality notes

Fearlessly friendly, cheerfully intrusive, and certain that every locked cavern contains someone who would like to meet her.
A devoted little sister with almost no respect for dramatic timing and tremendous confidence in her own rear end.
