Field Guide Entry #123
Quackmire
Burrowfolk • Meadowvale Pastures • 2026 sighting
Appearance
● Rounded, basin-like body with deep blue glaze pooling like still water ● Small perched duck and ducklings settled comfortably along his rim ● Soft side nubs and grounded base, giving him a stable, unmoving presence ● Slight inward curve, naturally collecting whatever falls (or lands) inside
Known quirks
- Remains perfectly still for long stretches, often mistaken for landscape
- Ducks will occasionally “rearrange” themselves without his consent
- Attracts small objects, crumbs, and curious glances
- Has considered leaving, but finds it easier to stay
- Emits a quiet, internal sigh (unconfirmed, but widely reported)
Personality notes
- Quackmire is gentle, accommodating, and deeply committed to not making a fuss.
- He does not seek attention, conflict, or additional tenants—but he will tolerate all three if necessary.
- There is a calmness to him, though it carries the weight of quiet acceptance.
